Where Young Minds Shape Health Research
Supporting young people to take an active role in research about their health and well-being

What is the Health Hive?
The Health Hive is a project that equips young people to play meaningful roles in research about their health and wellbeing. Whether you want to share ideas, provide feedback, collaborate on studies, or lead your own projects, the Health Hive provides the tools, resources, and confidence to get involved at the level that’s right for you. It’s a space to connect with the research community, help decide what should be studied, shape research studies that matter to your lives, and ensure young voices are heard in creating healthier futures.
The Health Hive is funded via a Medical Research Futures Fund Consumer-Led Grant (#2023165), National Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellowship (#106646) and Sydney Horizon Fellowship.

Opportunities hub
Pathways into research
CimWe are making opportunities visible for young people to get involved in research in ways that go beyond simply being study participants. Whether sharing ideas, advising, collaborating, or leading, every role is valued. Check out our Opportunities Hub for the latest ways to get involved.

A community of learners
Shaped by young people
The Health Hive is more than a course or a hub of opportunities - it’s a growing community of learners. Together, young people share experiences, support each other, and shape how the Hive develops. This is a space where you can belong, connect, and co-create the future of health research. Stay tuned for future updates.

Cross-cutting impact
Partnerships and systems change
By working with researchers, organisations, and policymakers, the Health Hive amplifies youth voices and embeds them into the broader health and medical research community. Strategic collaborations extend the reach of our initiatives and translate youth participation into real-world impact. If you or your organisation are looking to share an opportunity via our Opportunities Hub, please get in touch with us at health.hive@sydney.edu.au.
